Apprenticeships and Continued Professional Training

Apprenticeships are created for the advanced student of theatrical combat who has further aspirations to be a teacher and/or fight director. Apprenticeships are available for students who already have prior experience as in theatrical combat, usually at one of Dueling Arts International workshops, though students who have comparable training else where will also be considered as candidates for Apprenticeships. It is preferred that some portion of the students training take place in Dueling Arts International Workshops in order to adequately assess the candidates abilities and needs. After an assessment of the students skills and knowledge, and after talking with the student personally about their intentions and goals apprentice programs may then developed on an individual basis relative to these particular needs and goals. Apprenticeships usually consists of some combination of working as an assistant in addition to further one-on-one training with Dueling Arts Instructors in areas that are deemed necessary in order for the apprentice to attain his or her goals. Please refer to the section on workshops for information on up-coming training opportunities.
